Centovalli Train

Route: (Brig >) Domodossola > Centovalli > Locarno

Leaving Domodossola (Italy), you can take the Centovalli (i.e. "Hundred Valleys") Train to Locarno on Lake Maggiore. Don`t forget to take a peek at the many sights along the way. For instance, you can see the pilgrims` church in Re (Italy) with its bleeding Madonna or get off in Verdasio and take the cable car to Rasa. Intragna is a center for cultural and adventure tourism. On one hand, you can find the highest church tower in all of Ticino, the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, or you can go to the Outdoor Center for sports activities, such as bungee jumping from the train bridge.

The landscape is just as diverse. Watch the opulent vegetation, wild canyons and crashing waterfalls interspersed with vineyards, chestnut forests and dreamy villages — all of that makes this an unforgettable trip.

The Centovalli Train has several schedules runs a day in both directions. Travel time approx. 2 hours. Be sure to present valid entry documents when entering Italy. On the Italian part of the route, the trains with panorama cars require a small supplement, payable on the spot to the train staff. No seat reservations possible.
