The trains of the Zentralbahn connect Lucerne to Engelberg via Stans and to Interlaken Ost via Sarnen and the Brünig Pass (also see GoldenPass Line).

You leave Lucerne to reach the fascinating Alpine world with Engelberg, the village famous for its cloister, in about an hour. If you take the train into the opposite direction, you reach Interlaken Ost in about two hours, passing over the Brünig Pass, following the deep-blue Lake Brienz. From Interlaken Ost, there are numerous excursions to the Bernese Oberland. But in between, there is a lot to discover: charming villages, unspoilt landscapes, unique vantage points, clear lakes and gurgling streams.

The trains of the Zentralbahn are scheduled to run on an hourly basis between 7.00 hrs and 21.00 hrs, from Lucerne to Stans and Giswil they even run every half hour. Seat reservations are possible for the GoldenPass Panoramic trains running between Lucerne and Interlaken Ost.

Option: ascend Mount Titlis with the world’s first rotating cable car, the Titlis Rotair.
