Glacier Express

Route: Zermatt > Visp > Brig > Andermatt > Disentis > Chur > Davos/St. Moritz

The Glacier Express connects world-famous St. Moritz with a destination that’s just as renowned, Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn. Each of the eigth hours travelling time offers a succession of unforgettable views and impressions.

Even the train itself, the Glacier Express, is a showpiece in its class. Its air-conditioned panorama coaches glide silently through the sharply-aromatic mountain forests and the still mountain pastures. And if different sounds seem to be emanating from parts of the train, it’s probably because the train is just passing over one of the 291 bridges. If you look through the window, you will have a good chance of discovering a raging mountain stream a long way down.

Be sure to reserve your lunch on the train. Nowhere else will you be able to dine so well against a backdrop of changing Alpine panoramas as on the Glacier Express and, in most cases, directly at your seat. Naturally, you will also have the opportunity of being served snacks and beverages whenever the mood takes you.

Travel on the Glacier Express incurs a surcharge and seat reservation is mandatory.
