Mont Blanc Express / St. Bernard Express

Route: Martigny > Châtelard Frontière > Chamonix
Martigny > Orsières > Grand St. Bernard

Mont Blanc Express
Starting point for the unique Mont Blanc Express is in Martigny in the canton of Valais. Crossing the wild Trient Gorge and ascending to breath-taking heights towards Chamonix (France), travelers will see waterfalls crashing down and majestic mountain crags rising in the background. Shady forests alternate with cozy villages and ultimately give way onto the grandiose glacier of Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest peak.

Be sure to have valid entry documents for France. Swiss Travel System tickets are valid to and from Chamonix, France.

St. Bernard Express
Just like the Mont Blanc Express, the St. Bernard Express also has its point of origin in Martigny. Pass through the Val d’Entremont to Orsières, from where a bus will take you to Champex-Lac, La Fouly or if it is summer (mid-June to late September) to the hospice on the Grand St. Bernard Pass. There visit the legendary kennels where the dogs of the same name are bred, as well as the small local museum to view the Roman artifacts found here.
