A Postbus will take you beyond where the rails end. For sure, these buses have long since replaced the stagecoach – yet the coach driver’s horn of bygone days is still in evidence. On some Postbus routes – especially over the Alpine passes – the sound of the horn is still to be heard as it evokes the romance of the stagecoach. You will really hear this when the driver does more than just give a toot before taking a sharp mountain curve, and blasts his (mechanical) “post horn”. Yes, the Swiss Travel System is proud of its Postbuses!
