Useful information for your journey.

The Swiss Travel System runs as smoothly as clockwork - each wheel engaging with the next in perfect harmony. Our biggest “wheels” are the InterCity trains for long-distance travelling. They’re the ones that set the tone for everything else. Regional transport and the Postbuses both operate in sync with these, while in the main population centres we have an even denser network of S-Bahn suburban trains “ticking” at a faster rate. Even the ships plying our lakes are cogs in this machine as are the smaller transport systems leading up into the mountains.

The information here will enable you to see how these cogs work together before you even arrive in Switzerland.
