Trains and bicycles.
Bicycles may be hired at many stations. This provides many overseas guests with an ideal opportunity to discover Switzerland’s well-signposted cycling routes. When you get tired of cycling, you just hand your bicycle in at the nearest station.
For those who are travelling with their own bicycles, there are many trains offering load-it-yourself bicycle transport for a charge of CHF 10.- per day. Be sure to heed the corresponding pictograms on timetables, departure boards and trains. The modern ICN tilting trains only have limited space for bicycles. With these it is essential to reserve a place for your bicycle at the station (the reservation fee is an additional CHF 5.-). www.rail.ch/bicycle
